Facilitate and coordinate design-thinking projects in which teams of teachers in schools test and improve practices to help underserved students succeed.

The Program Facilitator will lead schools towards the adoption of continuous improvement practices by using design thinking. Their goal is to help educators innovate by accessing available research, documenting practices, and engaging qualitative and quantitative methods to drive better outcomes for students.

The ideal candidate will have an exceptional ability to help others articulate their thinking, engage in a process of reflective inquiry to problem solve, and identify, aggregate, and explain themes and patterns they find in information. The Program Facilitator will work as part of a team supporting projects in public and charter schools as well as research efforts across multiple schools. You'll love this position if you enjoy taking ownership in your work, leading with inquiry, and operating with an entrepreneurial spirit.


Partner to Facilitate Continuous Improvement

  • Facilitate and coordinate 5-10 design projects in which teams of teachers in schools test and improve practices to help underserved students succeed
  • Respond to the various needs and challenges encountered by teachers and teams of teachers as they engage in projects to implement new practices
  • Visit schools regularly to observe, document, survey, and interview staff and students and to support meetings of teacher teams

Champion Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

  • Raise and integrate issues of equity and justice as they connect to school-based projects
  • Help educators develop a critical awareness of the connection between issues of social justice and their practice in schools

Collaborate with Schools and Eskolta Network

  • Collaborate with the full Eskolta team and support cross-team learning and development
  • Work collaboratively with program teams and academic leaders in schools to support the development of multicultural/culturally relevant curriculum and pedagogy, skill-based competencies and assessment for mastery learning, strength-based culture drawing upon the cognitive science of learning, and student-centered feedback

Develop, Monitor, and Codify Data on Practice

  • Conduct interviews and gather and analyze quantitative data—from surveys, student grades, attendance, test scores, etc.—to better understand the impact of efforts
  • Write clear, concise, and informative memos, case studies, analytic studies, slide decks, and other narrative forms to document learning from schools
  • Monitor the effectiveness and results of the initiatives and plan adjustments through pre-and post-event surveys, analyze event performance and prepare metrics for programmatic success


There are innumerable ways to learn, grow, and excel professionally. We respect this when we review applications and take a broad look at the experience of each applicant. This said we are most likely to be interested in your candidacy if you can demonstrate the majority of the qualifications and experiences listed below.

  • Master’s degree or commensurate experience in a relevant field, including education, adult learning, organizational psychology, and sociology
  • 4+ years of experience working with diverse groups in professional or community settings to achieve shared goals.
  • Knowledge of and concern for issues of equity and justice and an understanding of how structural injustice has impacted the experiences of underserved students
  • Highly organized project manager able to consistently deliver high-quality work on time
  • Growth mindset required to succeed in a learning organization committed to self-examination and professional, as well as personal, development. 
  • A self-starter with the ability to move a project forward in a small, flexible, entrepreneurial environment
