Facilities Operations Manager

The Facilities Manager will play a key role in developing the organization’s capacity to manage its resources by focusing on the infrastructure needed to support the work of staff. Working closely with the Director of Finance & Administration, the Facilities Manager will oversee all building-related activities, be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well functioning. The ideal candidate will be well organized and  able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operational cost.   • Plan and direct the facility-related activities and work with the leadership team to provide oversight of the maintenance of all Bridge buildings and physical assets.
  • Assess the allocation of existing space, current needs, and plan for adjustment as needed to accommodate growth and organizational changes.
  • Plan and coordinate all renovation projects, routine maintenance, and installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity, etc)
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors who provide services, supplies, and special facilities projects. Obtain competitive bids from contractors.
  • Coordinate inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
  • Partner with program leadership to coordinate security systems and safety programs
  • Maintain inventory and storage for supplies and equipment
  • Supervise facilities staff (Cleaning & Maintenance) and serve as point of contact for relevant vendors
  • On-call for building emergencies


  • 5+ years of experience in Facilities and Operations management
  • Familiarity with building trades, construction methods and materials. HVAC systems, mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, repairs and maintenance required.
  • Experience working with vendors under contract for major services delivery
  • Experience managing budgets, especially in resource constrained context
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact diplomatically with vendors, staff, & leadership team
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented with experience working in ambiguity
  • Must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference and multi-state background check
