THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Benefits & Payroll Administrator reports to the Director of Finance and Administration and will work with Finance and Human Resources colleagues to ensure the efficient and compliant processing of payroll and benefits. This position requires attention to detail, organization, and effective collaboration across departments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Payroll

  • Proactively audits, reconciles and resolves issues to ensure smooth payroll processing
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local taxation and regulatory requirements; researches existing and new legislation, and advises management on any necessary compliance actions
  • Responds to employee inquiries regarding earnings, deductions, calculations, withholdings, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of records and information. Responsible for the integrity of the data in the HRIS system.
  • Coordinates and completes required reports and filings related to payroll and benefits
  • Assists with payroll analyses and ad hoc reporting as needed

Benefits

  • Administers all employee benefit plans (including Medical, Dental, Vision, retirement, & flexible spending accounts)
  • Assists with communication for Open Enrollment, benefits campaigns and initiatives
  • Manages leaves of absences, benefits plan audits, and vendor invoices
  • Participates in new hire benefits orientation

Ad hoc Administration and Special Projects

  • Participates in HR related projects resulting from acquisitions or other business priorities, working cross-functionally within Finance, HR, IT, and other functions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of related experience
  • Experience with payroll systems required; experience with ADP strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of benefits contract language
  • Knowledge of relevant federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements and ability to keep up to date with latest trends.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented with experience working in ambiguity
  • Proficiency in use of systems, tools, and processes including comfort with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and HRIS systems
  • Must be able to successfully pass a CORI, reference and multi-state background check
