Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager reports to the Director of Finance and Administration and will work closely with all staff to ensure we maintain a high performing workforce.   As our Human Resources Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating Bridge’s talent and human resources functions and systems. Human Resources and Benefits

  • Manage information and workflow of the HR systems and platforms including changes in staff benefit elections, management of time during leaves of absences, and upkeep with the input of information during performance review cycles
  • Manage benefits review processes: working with benefits broker, providers and leadership team to establish best fits for employee coverage and organization’s budget
  • Manage the annual salary review process with oversight from Director of Finance & Administration
  • Maintain current knowledge of and ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws and licensing requirements
  • Ensure the accurate transfer of data and proper documentation for all employee actions regarding payroll
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential personnel files
  • Serve as the point of contact for all employee, candidate, and provider questions, concerns and changes related to benefits packages
  • Promote employee enrollment and re-enrollment in new and existing benefits and provide coaching/assistance to new and existing employees in navigating the enrollment process

Employee Relations

  • Provide general Employee Relations support and services as needed, including addressing personnel issues and responding to inquiries regarding policies
  • Provide real-time advice to managers regarding performance issues and development of skills
  • Ensure all interactions regarding performance are appropriately documented and administered in compliance with relevant employment regulations, particularly in cases of adverse action
  • Provide on-going support and targeted coaching to managers and staff involved in Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Partner with program leadership and managers to coordinate trainings and share resources to support the execution of performance review cycles
  • Conduct exit interviews and use exit data to continuously improve the organization’s support of employees
  • Lead design and implementation of organization-wide recognition events (e.g., annual holiday party)

Recruitment and Onboarding New Employees

  • Create and implement the organization’s recruitment process including developing robust and diverse candidate pipelines, following consistent and targeted assessment practices during interviews and stewarding candidates through a positive candidate process
  • Oversee new hire orientation and ensure effective employee onboarding in first 90 days
  • Establish and manage the process of entering, exiting, and transferring employees, including the collection and processing of employment paperwork from newly hired employees
  • Manage the completion of criminal background checks for all employees


  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years working in nonprofits
  • PHR, SPHR,  SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification that demonstrates a comprehensive  understanding of employment and labor regulations and best practices
  • Strength in core areas of HR - benefits, employee relations, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, and policy creation and implementation
  • Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality relationships, understand the needs of managers and identify the effective solutions
  • Impeccable ethics and judgment in maintaining highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills/ emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage relationships with a diverse set of colleagues
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to leverage data and observation to inform decision making
  • Proficiency in use of systems, tools, and processes including comfort with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and HRIS systems
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented with experience working in ambiguity
