National Council for Mental Wellbeing Logistics Coordinator
Position Summary
The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) department seeks a Logistics Coordinator for a temporary full-time assignment beginning June 15, 2026 and ending August 15, 2026.
As the Logistics Coordinator, your role is critical for program function to ensure all Mental Health First Aid trainings are staffed appropriately and event information is accurate. The MHFA training is an 8-hour course that teaches people how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Using a “train the trainer” model, the National Council conducts hundreds of instructor trainings per year across the country.
To be successful in this role, you will be positive, resourceful, proactive, and efficient while maintaining a professional presence with internal and external audiences. While this position can be done remotely from anywhere in the US, you will need to work our Washington, DC business hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM ET.
As a temporary employee, you must use your own laptop and technology, and we will give you access to our systems.
Key Responsibilities
Create and manage the training schedule and assignments of staff and contractors for approximately 10–20 courses each week
Serve as main point of contact for live assistance during training sessions and provide virtual support as needed, including payment, attendance, and direct candidate support
Research travel arrangements for contractors and employees for the TTT program, including expense monitoring and monthly reporting
Communicate all travel and accommodation information to instructors, managers, and other stakeholders in a timely manner
Ensure travel processes are aligned to business needs and make recommendations when needed; research best rates and ensure travel needs are met within budgeted travel dollars
Provide customer service support through Zendesk and serve as a resource for staff and contractors on rules, guidelines, and procedures
Support special projects as needed
Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours as needed to support training operations
Required Qualifications
1–3 years of event planning or event coordination, including both in-person and virtual meeting planning
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail
Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
High level proficiency in Microsoft Office — MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Experience using scheduling software such as Shiftboard, and a CRM database and/or Learning Management System (LMS)
Results-oriented with the ability to perform at a high level in a fluid, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
1–2 years of project management experience
Familiarity with mental health, nonprofit, or training program environments
