The Intake Counselor is responsible for providing efficient and superior communication to clients and visitors and connecting them to the appropriate counselor to meet their needs. The Intake Counselor is also responsible for maintaining the youth drop-in area as a respectful environment for all visitors and assists the clinical team in locating services and resources to help young people transition out of homelessness.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic organization in a role where you can contribute immediately, grow immensely and advance our mission.


  • Maintain a welcoming drop-in center that is inviting to everyone
  • Maintain an accurate log of all client visits to the counseling floor and the services provided
  • Observe client interactions and help facilitate appropriate behavior and boundaries among clients
  • Provide limits and structure to clients in accordance with agency policies   
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as copying, filing, and achieving records
  • Compile monthly support services statistics
  • Participate in staff meeting and trainings
  • Assist clinical team in making referrals to appropriate outside social service agencies
  • Conduct insurance verification for clinical services as needed
  • Regularly update and maintain an accurate list of referral resources for staff
  • Ensure that all activities, services and programs through Bridge are conducted in a manner that is sensitive to and shows respect for the cultural and ethnic diversity for all Bridge clients
  • Other related tasks as required/requested


  • Bachelor’s degree and or Associates with at least 3 years experience working with adolescents.   
  • Previous experience in one or more of the following areas: homelessness, substance abuse, human services organization
  • Strong judgment in maintaining highly sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficiency in use of systems, tools, and processes including comfort with Microsoft Office, Google Apps, and HRIS systems
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented with experience working in ambiguity
